“The U.S. food system is a complex network of farmers and the industries that link to them.

Most food is produced by a process called agriculture which happens to revolve around the cultivation of plants and raising livestock. On average, 83% (or 417 Mio) of all the food we eat is produced using land-based agriculture. Agriculture is so important to our existence that one could say “human” was defined as such due to our ability to farm! Before you start eating it, however, most of the food you eat goes through another very unique form of agricultural production called aquaculture (the farming or cultivation of aquatic organisms like fish, shellfish, and aquatic plants). Aquaculture first originated on an experimental basis in China about 4500 years ago and since then it has become a crucial part of marine industries around the world now producing over 70 % of all seafood!

Preparing food involves a variety of methods and techniques to transform raw ingredients into something marketable for human consumption. Food preparation is the act of making foods edible, or otherwise consumable by humans. There are several ways that food preparation can take places such as conversion, conjugation, and concoction.

Baking is a process that utilizes different tools and steps in order to develop bread, pastries, cakes, and other desserts.

The process of food preparation is a series of activities that include harvesting, storing, milling, and social institutions with the purpose of preserving and preparing food. The food industry has a lot of influence on people’s eating habits. Corporations are often criticized for how they influence consumers and transform their eating habits, such as the Florida-based Coca-Cola Company. It has been alleged that these companies give donations to health organizations including The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in order to make people more likely to buy and consume products made by them. Although health organizations accept donations from companies in question, some critics believe that accepting money from corporations inhibits a group like AAFP from taking actions that would be beneficial to public health. These corporations may also donate money only if there is a business gain for them – it’s very likely the company might not support a Health program just because they have an interest in making people healthier overall.

It’s always nice when a company sends you some food to sample or review. However, while companies might have good intentions with this gesture it can create a conflict of interest with your work if you accept their food without doing the proper research into that particular brand.

When restaurants and cafes purchase food directly from farmers it increases consumer income, as well as sustainability, from reduced food waste. When households control more of their own income because they are not funneling it to outside parties, such as corporations and government bodies via taxes, consumerism remains low.
